Colorado Hail Storm Dates


The Colorado hail season is from mid-April to mid-September. The Front Range of Colorado is located in the middle of what is known as “Hail Alley” because this area receives the highest frequency of large hail in North America. As residents of Colorado, we can expect three to four catastrophic hail storms every year. In the past ten years, hailstorms in Colorado have caused more than $3 billion in insured hail damage. Colorado has the second highest number of hail damage claims in the US, second only to Texas. Here are the Colorado hail storm dates and locations of the Class 5 hail storms.
